Bold headline: Disney California Adventure repurposes the former Twilight Zone Tower of Terror FastPass area into an outdoor dining space.
Disneyland Resort has filed a permit that reveals the planned future for the long-idle Twilight Zone Tower of Terror FastPass distribution zone at Disney California Adventure.
In January, construction barriers appeared around the building, signaling a change was coming. The official permit details show the site being transformed into an outdoor eating area with updated structural elements:
- Location: DCA – Avengers Campus/Building #749
- Change of Use: Convert existing detached FastPass ticket shade structure into an outdoor dining space with new joists and electrical work
The structure had already served as additional outdoor seating, but this permit indicates the removal of the Tower of Terror branding and the addition of practical dining infrastructure. This change is expected to support guests visiting nearby Pym’s Test Kitchen by providing more convenient seating and amenities.
Even though Lightning Lane replaced FastPass years ago and Tower of Terror was repurposed into Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! in 2017, the structure largely retained its Art Deco Tower of Terror aesthetic. While the FastPass kiosks and signage have been removed, the building’s decorative theme remained in place until now.
